Triride's Tribike Hybrid Plus will fit to almost every manual wheelchair available, including those with swing-away legrests. It is quick and simple to mount and remove, and an optional T-stand can assist with this - especially helpful for those new to handbikes.
Once attached, you can cycle off, covering much further distances at much faster speeds than can be managed by self-propelling, helping to maintain your fitness when out and about.
The power-assist offers help for those situations when cycle power alone becomes a struggle - for example steep hills, really rough ground, or at the end of a long day's travelling. The 250 Watt motor assists your pedalling, and provides a range of up to 62 miles.
16 or 20" wheels are available, as well as a choice of tyres - City for a slicker tread more focused on speed on paved surfaces, or Cross with a chunkier tread for off-roading. The Tribike Hybrid includes a Shimano 7-speed gearbox, and a max power-assisted speed of 15.5 mph.
A range of handlebar stems are available dependent on your wheelchair setup, and your preferred pedalling position. The frame is available in a choice of colours, including the option for any custom RAL colour and laser engraving.
Our Verdict
The Triride Tribike Hybrid Plus Handbike is quite significantly more expensive than the Tribike Manual, but the power-assistance is often worth it to give you the peace of mind that you won't get stuck on challenging terrain.
