Wheelchairs have long been our speciality at Wheelfreedom, and we provide a full range of products for you to choose from. This includes good value ultra-light transportable wheelchairs that are ideal for lifting into the back of your car, as well as made to measure models with more advanced seating for those spending longer periods of time in their wheelchair.

If your need for a wheelchair is short-term, our long-established wheelchair rental service provides a quick and convenient solution, and we can deliver our hire wheelchairs nationwide on a next-morning delivery.

Our Chessington showroom features a wide range of standard and prescriptive wheelchairs, including tilt in space models, as well as a selection of powerpacks for you to try out. Our product specialists are on hand to demonstrate the products and assess you for them, and we even have a car in the showroom to try out lifting your wheelchair into it.

Lightweight Manual Wheelchairs

Ideal for transport, we have a great selection of light, aluminium framed wheelchairs that can fold up quickly and easily to fit in the back of your car. This includes ultra-light models like Karma's 9.2 kg Ergo Lite 2, modern designs such as the stylish Greencare Easy 1 Black Edition, and the ergonomic seat of TGA's Strongback.

Our models include both transit wheelchairs - the lightest available, and ideal if the wheelchair will be pushed by an attendant - and self-propelled for when the wheelchair user wishes to propel themselves around.

Made To Measure Wheelchairs

We also provide made-to-measure models including the market-leading Invacare Action 3NG Light and Karma's Flexx range that are built to order in your size, and with a range of seating options. These can cater for everything from people wanting a better fitting wheelchair than "standard" sizes can provide, to those with complex seating requirements.

Manual Paediatric Wheelchairs

Children often have very particular requirements for a wheelchair, and it is important that theirs provides a good fit. We specialist in a range of paediatric wheelchairs for younger users, whether they need active self-propelled models such as Ki Mobility's Little Wave Clik, adaptive buggies like the Leggero Trak, or require tilt in space from a model such as the Zippie Iris. Importantly, the ability to grow your wheelchair of choice ensures that it provides a good fit for years to come.

Manual Bariatric Wheelchairs

Sturdy bariatric wheelchairs with larger seat widths and hefty weight capacities can cater to heavier people. Our manual bariatric wheelchairs take people up to 300 kg (47 stone) while also remaining transportable.

Pushing someone else around in a wheelchair can be tiring. Our range of powerpacks such as TGA's popular Duo and Sunrise Medical's Empulse R20 take the strain of pushing off you, giving you the freedom to enjoy day trips or even conquer hills with the minimum of effort.

Our showroom also features a private Assessment Room ideal for those with more complex seating requirements, which can be booked in advance for your appointment with one of our specialist seating experts.

Wheelchair Hire

As well as offering a larger selection of wheelchairs for purchase, we have also long operated a manual wheelchair hire service for those requiring one for short-term use or who do not know how long they will require a wheelchair. This is ideal for people whose need is temporary, for example due to a broken leg, a holiday abroad, or the visit of an elderly relative.
