The XT4's four-wheel-drive system is powered by 700 W motors to deliver the torque needed to navigate through mud, sand, snow, and uneven terrains. Its patented front and rear suspension, with independently pivoting arms, ensures all four wheels maintain contact with the ground, providing a smoother ride and greater stability on rough surfaces. The off-road pneumatic tyres further enhance traction and comfort, allowing users to explore diverse landscapes up to 6 mph confidently.

Navigating challenging terrains is effortless with the XT4's servo-powered steering system. By combining differential wheel speeds with advanced servo control, the chair offers intuitive and responsive handling. The servo-powered steering system makes the XT4 easy to manoeuvre, even on slippery or low-traction surfaces. 

The XT4 is designed with user comfort and safety in mind. Select from our rehab or MPS seats along with a variety of customisable options such as fold-forward or removable backrests for easier transport, swing-away joystick mounts, and an extensive selection of headrests. Catering to varying sizes, seat widths are available from 13 to 23 inches, and seat depth can also be customised from 13 to 24 inches. Optional powered seating options include tilt, recline, and lift to accommodate individual clinical needs. 

With the R-Net electronics, the XT4 is also compatible with special controls if you require a different controller from the standard joystick. The XT4 can be complemented with varying special controls, including a head control array, switches or chin controls.

Integrated LED lighting ensures visibility during low-light conditions while the splash-resistant design (IP54 rating) protects the chair from water splashes. While it is splash-proof, the XT4 should not be submerged or driven through water, as it does contain electrical components.

Both the XT4 and Quantum Outback are powerful all-terrain powerchairs with a four-wheel drive system. However, the XT4 offers better handling with the servo steering wheel and a higher user weight limit compared to the Outback. The Outback comes with either the TRU-Balance seating or contoured seating, which can provide more powered seating options. Users requiring more clinical configuration options can opt for the Outback, while users who prioritise outdoor capability can opt for the XT4’s patented suspension, motors and servo steering wheel. 

 is designed for users who prioritise comfort while travelling outdoors. With a top speed of 8 mph, 28-mile range, rear-wheel drive and robust suspension, the X850 Corpus 3G offers a faster and longer ride compared to the XT4 while keeping your journey stable. Its Corpus seating system offers substantial seating options as well as a 180° rotating seat to facilitate easier transfers. However, it has a lower maximum user weight capacity of 136 kg compared to the XT4.

The Permobil X850 Corpus 3G powerchair is best for its longest range, a 180° rotating seat ideal and Corpus seating system, while the Pride Quantum Outback can offer a good balance between outdoor performance and comfort.
