Ki Mobility Little Wave XP Rigid Wheelchair

Ki's Little Wave XP is our most popular paediatric wheelchair, offering a great range of features and growth at a surprisingly affordable price. It is a stylish, fully customisable wheelchair that can grow with your child.

Product Description

Adjustments and Growth

The Ki Mobility Little Wave XP Rigid Wheelchair can grow alongside your child, with three inches of both seat width and depth growth available to provide a perfect fit for years, more than most competitor chairs can grow by. Other aspects of the chair can be adjusted, including footrest length and backrest height, and the modular design makes it easy to adapt to changing requirements.

Options

All aspects of the Little Wave can be configured, including functional, comfort and style options. A popular upgrade is Ki's unique Dynamic 5th wheel, which provides stability without impeding your child's ability to develop their wheelchair skills.

The seating can be fully set up to accommodate a vast range of requirements, and specialist backrests and cushions can be fitted too, including the popular and attractive Axiom backs from Ki Mobility - as in the photos.

A range of push handles, including height-adjustable ones and an ergonomic stroller-style handle, are available to allow comfortable and convenient pushing of the wheelchair when required.

Transport

The super-light Little Wave XP is designed to easily fit in a car - simply fold down the backrest, which then locks in place, and pop the quick-release wheels off. The wheelchair is then reduced to a compact, easy to transport size, that will fit in the back of almost every car.

For occupied transport, tie-down brackets are available, as the Little Wave XP is fully crash-tested.

Appearance

20 frame colours, plus a range of hydrographics, are available, while Spinergy or Mag wheels can be coloured too, to make the wheelchair stand out. If you have an Axiom back, this can be painted to match - or contrast with - the frame colour, further enhancing the Little Wave's appearance. Finally, one of the most popular options is the light-up rollerblade wheels, which are sure to turn heads.

Our Verdict

The Little Wave XP is our most popular paediatric wheelchair, for its great range of options, and its unrivalled growth capacity - this is a wheelchair that lasts. We particularly like the dynamic 5th wheel, which provides the ideal way for your child to develop their wheelchair skills in comfort, and also the mag wheels, which remove the need for spoke guards. It is this combination that makes the Little Wave XP our most popular model of paediatric wheelchair.

While there are other models of children's wheelchair available, we find Ki's Little Wave Clik to be the main competitor - a slightly more expensive model, it is available in smaller seat sizes (ideal for the youngest and smallest children), and has a slimmer appearance to the frame, which some people prefer.
