A high-performance scooter, the Comet Pro's powerful motors allow a top speed of 8 mph, and the twin 75 Ah batteries provide a range of up to 34 miles on a single charge that is almost unmatched. The steering is improved over the classic Comet, with tighter turns possible - while the auto-speed reduction keeps you safe when driving around bends. The back-lit LCD screen allows fine control of the scooter, with all the information you need available at a glance. The Comet Pro has been subjected to rigorous independent German TÜV laboratory testing to ensure its safety and reliability.
The Comet Pro features modern styling in a range of colours - white, red, green, blue and silver as standard, with premium metallics as an upgrade.
This is backed up by Invacare's rubberised shroud material that is more resistant to impacts, reducing the chance of the scooter picking up dangerous cracks and sharp edges. The colour-impregnated black plastic also minimises the visibility of scratches, helping to maintain the appearance of your scooter. Invacare's full range of accessories are available, ranging from a mobile phone holder and USB adaptor, to seat post suspension, to a whole host of storage options such as the ever-popular lockable box.
Our Verdict
The Invacare Comet Pro Mobility Scooter is one of the most impressive scooters available, offering an enviable blend of technology, style and performance, with all the safety and reliability that Invacare's scooters have long been renowned for as a result of their rigorous design processes. For those after a top of the range large 8 mph scooter, this makes it the perfect choice, offering that bit more performance than the similar Orion Pro, although the Orion Pro is a little more compact.
The Comet Pro measures up well alongside other flagship scooters such as Pride's Executive, TGA's Breeze S4 and Sterling's S700, and it is worth trying it alongside them.
