Our pavement scooter of choice is Invacare's ever-popular Leo model, which is an impressive performer with an extensive 23 mile range.
Larger and sturdier than a boot scooter, the Leo offers stability and safety, while its large pneumatic wheels offer improved performance over the uneven pavements that are often encountered. Basic boot scooters can sometimes feel "rattly" over these kinds of surfaces, and the Leo provides a much smoother ride.
The delta tiller is comfortable to use, and can be adjusted to the required angle, allowing it to cater to drivers of all sizes. The simple controls are intuitive to pick up - ideal for beginners. Lights are fitted as standard to ensure visibility and safety.
It must be noted that this scooter cannot be disassembled, and therefore cannot be transported in a car - our Lightweight Boot Scooter is a good alternative if you need to transport your scooter.
We have found that 4 mph pavement scooters make an ideal start for someone new to scooters - they aren't as intimidatingly big as larger road ones, and don't suffer from the comfort issues that some smaller scooters do.
