Wheelfreedom welcomes Catalin Checiu as the new Engineering Manager. Catalin demonstrates an impressive set of valuable skills and insights gained from five years as an engineer and warehouse manager at Surrey Wheelchair Services. Combining his product knowledge and operational management skills, he effectively collaborates with the in-house engineering team to provide exceptional engineering solutions to customers.
Giles Donald, the managing director, mentioned, "We are thrilled to have Catalin join our team. He comes with an extensive background in engineering and management in the mobility industry, which will help us further enhance the service we can offer our customers."
In Catalin’s day-to-day role, he oversees repairs and provides technical guidance to support the workshop engineers. Besides supporting his team, he routinely ensures the equipment and processes are operating smoothly. Catalin’s role allows the team to operate efficiently, which in turn helps the team to deliver exceptional service to customers.
Having experienced working with the team at Wheelfreedom, Catalin has been inspired by their passion for helping the elderly and disabled community.
“Since joining Wheelfreedom, I’ve been impressed by the team's dedication and passion for improving mobility solutions. The collaborative atmosphere here encourages innovation, and it feels rewarding to be part of a team that genuinely cares about making a positive impact.”
Wheelfreedom values fostering a supportive and collaborative culture, particularly because the team’s culture would also be an environment for customers. Catalin shares similar values with Wheelfreedom, which led him to join as an Engineering Manager.
“I chose Wheelfreedom because of their commitment to enhancing mobility for individuals with disabilities. Having worked in the field for several years, I wanted to contribute to a company that prioritises customer care and provides high-quality products. I feel a strong connection with Wheelfreedom's mission to empower individuals through improved mobility. Like the company, I believe in the importance of accessibility and strive to embody these values in my work.”
